Double R Guest Ranch

I just left Double R Ranch, and wish I had more time there. I definitely plan on returning for a longer stay! Everything about this experience was top notch. The hosts and staff were welcoming and made me feel like family. The horses were well trained, and very well cared for. My little casita was clean and comfortable and private. The food was delicious, and the chef made desserts that were SO good. Finally, the scenic rides were beautiful and well thought out to meet every experience level. If you're looking for a place to immerse yourself in the cowboy life style, you won't get anything better than Double R Ranch!

We had the most wonderful Valentines weekend at Double R Guest Ranch! From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcomed and cared for. The entire experience was beautifully personalized, and you could truly tell that the ranch owners, Ron and Trina, take pride in making each guest feel special. The horseback riding was absolutely unforgettable — whether you’re experienced or just love being around horses, the trails and time spent riding were peaceful, scenic, and so refreshing. The wranglers were very knowledgeable and were able to make us feel completely comfortable as well as showing us some of the most spectacular landscapes in southern Arizona. Beyond the ranch, we also enjoyed participating in local activities in the region, including attending a rodeo in nearby historic Tombstone (yes, the one from the movie) and exploring nearby shops. It made the whole weekend feel like an authentic and fun getaway. One of our favorite parts was how everything was all-inclusive. The meal times were thoughtfully planned and provided, which allowed us to fully relax and enjoy every moment without worrying about a thing. Sitting around the table for meals felt like a true family gathering — warm conversations, laughter, and that special sense of connection you don’t always find when traveling. It didn’t feel like we were just guests; it felt like we were part of something. We especially appreciated the special care and attention given to dietary needs. My wife has a gluten sensitivity, Karen and Renee went above and beyond to make sure she was well taken care of at every meal. They were thoughtful, accommodating, and made her feel completely comfortable and included. That level of attentiveness truly meant a lot to us. Double R Guest Horse Ranch gave us more than a weekend away — it gave us memories we will cherish. We’re already looking forward to going back!

One of the best guest ranches I've visited. And I've been to ranches across the West. Accommodations are first rate, staff super friendly, meals very good. The rides are thru the beautiful Sonoita Valley. Every day different. And the best part-- the horses. Just Super. Only 70 miles from Tucson.
