The 1772 Foundation's mission is to ensure the safe passage of our historic buildings and farmland to future generations.
The grant program from the 1772 Foundation is designed to support historic preservation projects through 1:1 matching grants of up to $10,000. The funding supports a range of preservation activities including exterior painting, finishes and surface restoration, installation or upgrading of fire detection, lightning protection and security systems, repairs to/restoration of structural elements such as porches, roofs, windows, foundations, and sills, and chimney and masonry repointing. Applicants are expected to provide or develop, if not already available, comprehensive maintenance or restoration plans demonstrating the sustainability of the historic sites.
