The Agricultural Institute of Canada Foundation, now known as CFFAE, aims to advance education and fund research in agriculture to foster the development of a strong, competitive agricultural sector in Canada. Their focus includes supporting students through scholarships and advancing scientific knowledge in agriculture-related fields.
The Karl C. Ivarson Agricultural Scholarship provides significant financial support to students from Alberta pursuing studies in agricultural sciences. Open to both Masters and PhD level students, the scholarship aims to ease the financial burden of higher education. In 2017, two awards were available: one for a Masters student at $10,000 and another for a PhD student at $16,900. This grant program not only highlights Dr. Ivarson’s generosity but also his intention to foster educational opportunities within the agricultural sector for students from his home province.
