The mission of the Alabama Power Foundation is to support community development by investing in initiatives across five key areas: Educational Advancement, Civic and Community Development, Arts and Cultural Enrichment, Health and Human Services, and Environmental Stewardship.
The Students to Stewards Grants program aims to provide dynamic stewardship initiatives to schools through conservation education and outdoor classrooms, teaching students the importance of preserving Alabama’s natural resources. The program supports the development of environmental and conservation-related learning opportunities and the creation or enhancement of outdoor learning spaces. Grant awards are up to $3,500 each and may increase based on need. Uses include programming and curriculum materials for environmental education, funding for outdoor classrooms, and alternative learning locations to promote social distancing during COVID-19.
