The State of Alaska aims to reinvest civil money penalties, which are fines collected from nursing facilities that fail to meet federal health and safety standards, to support projects improving the quality of life and care for nursing facility residents.
The Civil Money Penalty Reinvestment Program (CMPRP) invites applications for grant funding from nursing facility providers, stakeholders, and other organizations. These grants are intended for the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives that directly or indirectly benefit nursing facility residents. Projects should be based on current and evidence-based practices promoting care and life quality for residents. Fund use includes but is not limited to support for residents of closing or decertified facilities, relocation expenses, quality care assurance projects, staff training initiatives, and activities that improve quality of life and social interaction among residents.
