The Borchard Foundation Center on Law & Aging aims to advance knowledge and improve policies, laws, and programs enhancing the quality of life for older adults. Through its grant program, it fosters academic research that informs and elevates public discourse and policy-making for the benefit of aging populations, including those marginalized by socio-economic, linguistic, or disability barriers.
The grant program offers two-year fellowships to law school graduates with an interest in building a career in law and aging. The fellowship includes mentorship, opportunities for professional development, financial support for education programs related to law and aging, and networking activities with peers and former fellows. The fellowship, which provides $62,000 annually, requires fellows to submit monthly activity reports and allows them to live and work anywhere in the U.S., provided they are U.S. citizens or legally resident. The initiative encourages the fellows to develop their knowledge and skills in the field of law and aging, with the aim of fostering a new generation of experts and advocates in this area.
