Overview

The Albuquerque Community Foundation's Competitive Grant Program supports a wide range of causes within the Greater Albuquerque Metropolitan Area through a competitive process. The grants have a clear focus on several key areas:

Arts and Culture: Supporting access to arts and enhancing Albuquerque's creative economy.
Education: Focused on at-risk populations, promoting literacy, support for underserved or special needs students, and skills-based education.
Environmental & Historic Preservation: Aiming to preserve the environment and historic landmarks, and support the environmental and agricultural economy.
Economics & Workforce Development: Fostering a strong local economy through innovative solutions for entrepreneurs and workforce development.
Health: Addressing mental health needs, including behavioral health and addiction recovery, and dental health from early childhood to seniors.
Human Services: Supporting programs that help individuals transition to self-sustainable lifestyles, including skills training and support for those aging out of foster care.
Animal Welfare: Addressing the needs of animals in urban-rural environments, including welfare, education/training, and health and protection of wildlife.

Criteria for applicants emphasize a proven track record in the Greater Albuquerque area, alignment with the Foundation's fields-of-interest and values, clearly defined goals and measurable outcomes, and addressing systemic inequities in the community.
