The Alzheimer’s Association aims to lead the fight against Alzheimer's and all other dementia by accelerating global research, driving risk reduction and early detection, and maximizing quality care and support.
The Alzheimer’s Association Clinician Scientist Fellowship to Promote Diversity (AACSF-D) seeks to enhance the representation of underrepresented physicians in Alzheimer's and dementia research. It focuses on funding clinicians entering or currently in clinical careers related to Alzheimer's and other dementias, covering a wide spectrum of research areas from patient-oriented studies to translational research aimed at treatment development, diagnosis enhancement, and basic science studies indirectly involving human subjects. The grant encourages proposals for epidemiologic, behavioral, clinical trials, disease mechanism studies, and more, aimed at creating therapies, diagnostic tests, or other tools against neurological diseases. Eligible applicants include those within 18 years of receiving their clinician credentials who are up to the level of Assistant Professor. The grant provides up to $250,000, covering research costs, travel for professional development, and research stipends upon successful completion of the award.
