The mission of the AASM Foundation is to lead the field in academic sleep medicine in terms of research and education, aiming to enhance sleep health for all through funding initiatives. The RLS Foundation focuses on improving care and seeking cures for those affected by Restless Legs Syndrome through research, education, and connecting communities.
The Community Sleep Health and Public Awareness Grant by the AASM Foundation is designed to support a broad range of projects aimed at improving sleep health within local, national, or global communities. The grant targets initiatives that can either be humanitarian, educational, or awareness efforts focused on enhancing sleep health, and evaluating or treating sleep disorders within the community. These projects can range from one-time events to longitudinal studies extending up to 2 years. Specifically, the grant supports projects like humanitarian service endeavors aimed at underserved groups, creation and dissemination of education and awareness materials, and implementation of evidence-based sleep disorder evaluations and care models. There are two funding categories: Category I, with funding up to $50,000 for projects up to 2 years, and Category II, with funding up to $25,000 for projects up to 1 year. Indirect costs are limited to an 8% cap.
