The grant program aims to support the future of sports medicine and exercise science by investing in students and professionals who demonstrate the potential for significant contributions to the field. It provides research and travel awards to eligible members to facilitate their development and recognition. Specifically, the Science Integration & Leadership Committee Basic Science Travel Award is designed to recognize excellence in student research in basic science and support the associated travel expenses for presenting scholarly work at the ACSM Annual Meeting. The award focuses on the impact and quality of the research to be presented.
