The mission of the ADHA Institute for Oral Health is to support advancements in the dental hygiene field through the discovery and application of knowledge. The Karla Girts Crest Oral B Memorial Community Outreach Scholarship, sponsored by Procter & Gamble, honors the memory of Karla Girts, a past president of ADHA and former Chair of the ADHA Institute for Oral Health. This scholarship targets applicants who are committed to improving oral health within the geriatric population. Eligibility criteria include having a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale. Applicants are required to submit a separate essay demonstrating their commitment. The award amount is $1,000, and the number of annual awards may vary.
