The American Musicological Society exists to expand understanding of music and sound through research, teaching, learning, and advocacy. To achieve this, the Society supports a variety of initiatives including grants, fellowships, publications, public programs, and professional support for its members. Central to its mission is the promotion of equity, access, and inclusion.
The Janet Levy Fund specifically supports professional travel and research expenses for scholars who are members of the American Musicological Society. The fund covers costs such as travel to the AMS Annual Meeting, other conferences, archives, or research libraries; research expenses; costs related to reproducing manuscripts and archival documents; and specialized research materials.
