From American Society of Overseas Research (ASOR)

The mission of the American Society of Overseas Research (ASOR) is to initiate, encourage, and support research and public understanding of the history and cultures of the Near East and wider Mediterranean world, from the earliest times. ASOR aims to achieve its mission in a manner that is apolitical and without any religious affiliation.

    Type of Support

    Overview

ASOR offers various research fellowships for its members to support their scholarly work, including the Study of Collections Fellowships, Dar Ben Gacem Tunisian Fellowships, Herbert Warren Mason Fellowships, and Mesopotamian Fellowships. Specifically, the Study of Collections Fellowships provide two $2,000 awards to support the study of museum and archival collections, repositories, or collections of national authorities. The funds can cover travel, per diem expenses, and other direct costs, though the latter may not exceed one-third of the fellowship amount. Applicants are required to be current ASOR members.
