    Overview

The New Century Scholars Doctoral Scholarship program is designed for doctoral students in the U.S. who are committed to pursuing a teacher-investigator career in an academic environment at the university or college level. The program supports strong candidates aiming to attain a research doctoral degree in the field of communication sciences and work within the higher education academic community. Up to 15 scholarships of $10,000 each are awarded to help fulfill this aim, with the expectation that recipients will contribute significantly to their discipline in the United States. The ASHFoundation requires grant recipients to complete their intended research doctoral program and pursue career paths that align with the grant's objectives; failure to meet these requirements may necessitate repayment of the awarded funds to support another candidate.
