The American Water Charitable Foundation is a 501(c)(3) private foundation supported by American Water shareholders. It focuses on enhancing the quality of life in communities served by American Water through a variety of support and grant programs, overseen by a board of trustees from American Water or its subsidiaries.
The Water and Environment Grant Program aims to support innovative, community-based projects across certain U.S. states and Military Service locations. These projects should focus on improving, restoring, or protecting watersheds, surface, and groundwater supplies, promoting water conservation, and increasing equitable access to water-based recreation for underserved communities.
