Artis supports contemporary artists from Israel whose work addresses aesthetic, social, and political questions that inspire reflection and debate. As a nonprofit organization based in New York, Artis aims to connect arts professionals with Israeli artists, foster artist engagement outside of Israel, and contextualize Israeli art within the international contemporary art discourse.
Artis provides support for artists and curators from Israel who have been accepted at major international residency programs. These residencies serve as vital components for artistic development, offering opportunities for creating new work, learning new skills, meeting peers, and forging professional connections. The grants cover travel, program fees, production costs, or other needs related to the residency. Applications are evaluated based on artistic merit and the potential impact of the residency on the applicant's practice. Priority is given to residencies at internationally recognized institutions, but diverse types of residencies, including virtual and those at academic institutions, museums, or cultural organizations, are also considered.
