ArtsWave aims to ensure everyone in Greater Cincinnati experiences the positive effects of the arts, which contribute to a more vibrant regional economy and more connected communities.
The African American Arts grants by ArtsWave, also known as Circle Grants, aim to support and grow organizations that are Black-led and predominantly serve Black communities within the Cincinnati region. The grants focus on strengthening the capacity for arts presentation, production, programming, and instruction. This initiative is part of ArtsWave’s broader objective to increase the sustainability of organizations dedicated to the preservation and advancement of Black arts and culture. It is geared towards connecting local Black arts and cultural innovators with access to resources and opportunities, ensuring their growth and thriving presence in the arts landscape. This effort aligns with ArtsWave's Blueprint for Collective Action to leverage the arts for social impact, with these grants being partially influenced by the contributions of donors in ArtsWave’s Circle of African American Leaders for the Arts.
