    Overview

The Service Learning Through Sports Micro-Grant is a one-year program designed to support U.S. high school students who are committed to making sport and play more accessible in their community. This initiative, inspired by the School Sports Equity Toolkit, provides micro-grants and mentorship to students leading projects that address sports access issues. The program aims to teach the value of service learning by encouraging organized acts of service that meet recognized needs and improve systems at scale. It supports the idea that improving access to sports can not only fulfill youth desires for sport but also serve as a meaningful learning experience. Recipients are awarded a $2,000 micro-grant, a two-day learning retreat in Washington D.C., and ongoing peer mentorship to develop as service leaders and enhance their projects.
