The mission of Canon Medical Systems USA, Inc., in partnership with AHRA, through the Putting Patients First Program, focuses on enhancing patient care and establishing best practices in imaging. Over 13 years, they have supported improvements in patient care, safety, and cybersecurity in imaging across various technologies like CT, PET/CT, MR, Ultrasound, X-ray, and Vascular through financial grants aimed at programs, trainings, and seminars.
The Putting Patients First Program aims to enrich patient care, safety, and cybersecurity in diagnostic imaging by providing grants to IDN/hospital systems, local hospitals, and imaging centers. In 2024, it plans to award four grants: three grants of $10,000 each targeting single-site hospitals and imaging centers focusing on diagnostic, pediatric, and oncology imaging, and one grant of $20,000 for an Integrated Delivery Network (IDN) project that enhances patient care and safety across the IDN/hospital system. The initiatives funded by these grants include the development of best-practice processes and protocols, new staff training or seminars on improving patient care and safety, safer imaging practices for children, and tools to make imaging exams more comfortable for children. Recipients are also encouraged to publish an article about their innovative program, contributing to widespread improvement in patient care and safety in diagnostic imaging.
