The funder's mission is to support women in the geosciences by providing financial assistance and resources to overcome barriers to completing their education, especially those caused by significant life interruptions.
The Three AWG Professional Excellence Awards aim to recognize and honor women who have made significant contributions in their professional careers within three areas: Government/regulatory, Private industry/consulting, and Academia/research. The awards look for candidates who have shown a broad definition of professional excellence, including but not limited to, a comprehensive range of professional achievements, mentoring of other geoscience professionals, participation in outreach and service activities, and membership in professional societies.
