The mission of the Autism Science Foundation is to support autism research by funding scientists and organizations conducting studies related to autism spectrum disorders. The foundation focuses on expanding knowledge about autism through research to improve understanding, treatment, and opportunities for individuals with autism.
The Autism Science Foundation's Pre- and Postdoctoral Training Awards program aims to support the next generation of researchers in the field of autism research. This grant program is designed for graduate students, medical students, and postdoctoral fellows who are interested in pursuing careers in both basic and clinical autism research. The grant encourages training that is scientifically linked to autism and supports research in areas including, but not limited to, human behavior, neurobiology, pharmacology, disparities in access to care and research, interventions, and genetics. Special emphasis is placed on projects targeting under-researched communities, profound autism, severe behaviors, and disparities affecting racial, ethnic minority groups, or individuals facing socioeconomic challenges.
