    The Brown Family Foundation grant program focuses on the arts, K-12 education, health (HIV/AIDS and cancer), and clinical mental health services. The grants aim to:

    • Provide youth with meaningful art experiences, using arts as a tool for leadership development and academic enrichment based on strong youth development principles.
    • Enhance educational opportunities for disadvantaged children and youth in Baltimore City, supporting a broad definition of educational programs including afterschool, mentoring, computer technology, and traditional in-school education.
    • Support programs addressing the impact of HIV/AIDS and the prevention and treatment of cancer in the African American community, focusing on direct services, intervention, testing, counseling, and access to treatment.
    • Encourage arts and education programs that serve a core group of children/youth over an extended period, prioritizing organizations with a proven track record and clear programmatic outcomes.
