The mission of the Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation is to build stronger communities and improve the quality of life for all residents in the areas it serves. This involves supporting various charitable programs and endeavors, including the promotion of education, the arts, and community development.
The Berkshire Environmental Endowment Fund (BEE) targets the conservation and enhancement of Berkshire County's natural resources, focusing on its unique ecosystems, such as the Housatonic and Hoosic rivers' watersheds, extensive wetlands, bogs, and fens. It supports efforts to protect the abundant, diverse natural environment of the Berkshires, benefitting both its residents and visitors. Established with funding from the Massachusetts Environmental Trust and local individuals, BEE stands as the first dedicated financial resource aimed at preserving the environmental integrity of the Berkshires.
