The Biochemical Society aims to advance the molecular and cellular biosciences, facilitating the sharing of expertise, supporting the advancement of biochemistry and molecular biology, and promoting their importance in the wider biological context.
The Krebs Memorial Scholarship supports PhD candidates in Biochemistry or allied biomedical sciences who are in the top 5% of their peers and have faced extraordinary non-academic interruptions or are ineligible for public funds. It's designed as a recognition of exceptional academic distinction and outstanding promise, not as supplementary funding. The scholarship covers home student fees and maintenance, requiring international students and host universities to contribute to the funding. Initially awarded for one year, it can be renewed up to three years, contingent on satisfactory progress reports. Applicants must arrange their university placements and secure letters from supervisors and academic referees confirming their top-tier candidate status.
