The Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana Foundation is dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of Louisiana's residents. It recognizes the disproportionate impact of health issues on the state's economic vitality, educational attainment, and quality of life, advocating for the utilization of grassroots coalitions to enact long-term health improvements across communities in Louisiana.
The Collective Impact Grants aim to support comprehensive community efforts to tackle complex health issues in Louisiana. The grant program encourages the submission of proposals addressing a broad spectrum of health, education, or wellbeing concerns to cater to the unique needs of different communities. Priority areas include, but are not limited to, heart disease, diabetes, mental health, obesity, and disparities in healthcare access, quality, or cost. Additionally, the program emphasizes addressing the critical healthcare workforce shortages across the state by building sustainable solutions to bolster the availability of essential healthcare providers, including general practitioners, dentists, specialists, nurses, and mental health professionals, among others. Through these grants, the Foundation seeks to foster effective teams within communities to undertake significant health challenges and support the development of healthy environments statewide.
