The mission of the Cactus and Succulent Society of America, Inc. (CSSA) is to support research on succulent plants through facilitating grants. The mission extends to increasing knowledge and understanding among its primarily hobbyist membership about succulent plants, driven by donations from individuals, organizations, and businesses.
The CSSA Research Grants Program aims to offer financial assistance for a variety of research projects related to succulent plants. These projects can range from the discovery of new species, ecological studies, advances in cultivation and propagation techniques, to conservation efforts for threatened species, and investigations into basic plant biology that cater to the interests of plant enthusiasts and hobbyists.
