The mission of the California State Parks Division of Boating and Waterways (DBW) is to provide safe and convenient public access to California’s waterways.
The Boating Safety and Enforcement (BS&E) Financial Aid Program focuses on providing financial support to local governmental agencies. Established in 1969, this program is designed to enhance boating safety and enforcement activities, including the enforcement of boating laws and regulations, inspection of vessels for safety and compliance, supervision of organized boating activities to ensure public safety, and search and rescue operations. It helps agencies with high boater usage that lack sufficient funding for these essential services, supporting a safer boating environment through financial aid.
