The mission of the California State Parks Division of Boating and Waterways (DBW) is to provide safe and convenient public access to California’s waterways.
The grant aims to provide resources for local agencies to develop or improve public boat launching facilities, mainly focusing on motorized vessels. It enables the construction or enhancement of boat launching ramps, restrooms, boarding floats, shore protection, parking for vehicles and boat trailers, as well as supporting ancillary needs. Funding also covers engineering, construction inspection, permits, special studies, construction contingency, and other project-related costs. The goal is to enhance access to California's waterways for the recreational boating community, specifically targeting those using trailerable watercraft.
