The Captain Planet Foundation works to support and inspire educators and young people to participate in project-based learning initiatives that address environmental challenges. Through grants and educational programs, the foundation seeks to foster stewardship of the environment and empower youth to become agents of change in their communities.
The Project Learning Garden Program by Captain Planet Foundation focuses on enriching STEAM education through immersive, inquiry-based learning experiences. It uses gardens as outdoor laboratories to enhance the education of students of all levels and ages. The program integrates project-based learning with the natural world, allowing students to explore, question, and investigate real-world phenomena directly. It aims to make educational concepts more relevant and relatable by linking standard learning objectives with practical outdoor experiences. Eligible schools are offered a free Project Learning Garden package and Mobile Kitchen Cart, with a total value of $6,000, to facilitate this immersive educational approach.
