As the federally designated State Office of Rural Health for North Dakota and a department within the University of North Dakota's School of Medicine & Health Sciences since 1980, its objective spans serving people locally, regionally, and nationally.
The R-COOL-Health Scrubs Camp Grant Program supports innovative, hands-on health career awareness activities for students in rural North Dakota. By fostering partnerships between schools and local healthcare professionals, the program aims to inspire youth to explore health careers and address workforce needs in rural communities. Scrubs Camps emphasize experiential learning, teamwork, and community engagement to cultivate interest in healthcare professions and strengthen the future rural health workforce.
