    The Southeast Alabama Community Foundation (SACF) aims to connect charitable resources with community needs and opportunities in the Wiregrass region, encompassing Coffee, Dale, Geneva, Henry, or Houston counties. As an affiliate of the Central Alabama Community Foundation, SACF focuses on building long-term support for the community, allowing individuals to establish new funds for specific purposes or contribute to existing ones, since its establishment in 1995.

    Overview

    The Family Wellness & Education Grant Programs are designed to support nonprofit organizations addressing needs in Family Wellness and Education within Lowndes, Macon, and Montgomery counties. The program follows several grant types, each with distinct objectives:

    1. Community Trust Grants aim to improve the quality of life through support in Family Wellness (including family support, food security, and medical assistance) and educational endeavors within the specified counties.

    2. Field of Interest Grants encompass a few specific focuses:

    • The Merle S. & Mack C. Hunt Diabetes Fund targets efforts to fight diabetes through research and development.
    • Group Homes for Children supports initiatives benefiting children 18 years and younger in Autauga, Elmore, Lowndes, Macon, and Montgomery counties.
    • The Mental Health Grant backs organizations aiding those affected by mental health conditions in Montgomery County, potentially including education for caregivers and the public.
    1. Technical Assistance Grants help nonprofit organizations in Lowndes, Macon, and/or Montgomery counties strengthen internal operations and enhance overall effectiveness. These grants support needs in Strategic Planning, Organizational/Board Infrastructure, Fund Development, and Marketing/Public Relations.
