Central Carolina Community Foundation aims to make the Midlands more connected, vibrant, compassionate, and engaged. It strives for a livable, equitable, and just community where people can live, work, play, and raise a family. The Foundation inspires organizations to engage and invest in the community, building on its existing assets.
Midlands Gives is an initiative by the Central Carolina Community Foundation aimed at uniting the community for the support of local nonprofits across 11 counties in the Midlands. It functions as a year-round resource for donors but highlights an 18-hour online giving challenge on the first Tuesday of May each year. Since starting in 2014, it has raised $9.3 million for local causes. The program enables nonprofits to gain visibility, donors, and funding through an extensive, cost-effective outreach campaign. Participating organizations receive donations quarterly and additional payments post-giving day, inclusive of any bonus pools and prizes, following a financial reconciliation process.
