The mission of the Colorado Health Foundation is to improve the health of Coloradans. It operates on three cornerstones: serving Coloradans with less power, privilege, and income, especially prioritizing those of color; being informed by the community it aims to serve; and focusing all efforts towards creating health equity.
The Advancing Advocacy and Justice with Communities of Color funding opportunity by the Colorado Health Foundation seeks to empower the advocacy ecosystem, prioritizing organizations led by or centering on people of color, especially those closest to communities with significant health disparities. The grant aims to bolster long-term movement-building and enhance the capacity of advocacy groups to seize strategic opportunities for effecting equitable policy solutions and civic reforms. The initiative focuses on promoting health equity through a continuum of advocacy efforts, supporting racial and economic justice, and strengthening community influence on decision-making to improve policy. Grants will typically range from $50,000 to $200,000 annually for two to five years, targeting advocacy for diverse racial and ethnic communities, including intersectional work, to positively impact health equity across the state. Participation in an external evaluation process is a requirement for grantees.
