Colorado Parks and Wildlife aims to advance and balance outdoor recreation with conservation efforts across the state of Colorado. They focus on collaboration and networking to support their mission.
The Colorado Outdoor Equity Grant Program, established by House Bill 21-1318, is designed to create opportunities for youth and their families from historically excluded communities, enabling equitable access to recreational activities and Colorado’s natural spaces through the redistributive funding from lottery proceeds. The program targets addressing racial inequities and improving environmental justice and accessibility for these communities. It supports programs that provide environmental, outdoor, experiential, stewardship, and conservation education that is culturally responsive and tackles the disparities in outdoor access among Colorado's youth, regardless of their urban or rural background. The overarching aim is to make strategic investments that boost the well-being and future of Colorado's youth and their families.
