Colorado Parks and Wildlife aims to advance and balance outdoor recreation with conservation efforts across the state of Colorado. They focus on collaboration and networking to support their mission.
The Fishing Is Fun program aims to enhance angling opportunities in Colorado through financial support for a variety of projects. The program targets local and county governments, park and recreation departments, angling organizations, and water districts that seek to improve fishing conditions and access. The program supports projects in areas such as stream and river habitat improvements, new angler access through development or easements, fishing site amenities including restrooms and shade shelters, and boat access facilities like ramps and docks. Over its 25-year history, it has funded nearly 300 projects throughout Colorado, enhancing the fishing experiences for residents and visitors alike by upgrading public fishing ponds, constructing or renovating boat ramps and docks, and improving stream or lake habitations and angler access points.
