The Statewide Internet Portal Authority (SIPA) was established by Senate Bills 03-336 and 04-244 to create a user-friendly statewide internet portal. This portal serves as a central point for citizens to access state government information, products, and services. SIPA aims to deliver efficient, effective e-Government services to state and local governments. It supports state agencies, local governments, special districts, and educational institutions by offering technology solutions and acting as a procurement vehicle, self-funded through revenue from payment processing, sales of licenses, and consulting. SIPA also fosters private sector partnerships to optimize cost and resource utilization for governmental bodies.
The SIPA Micro-Grant program is designed to enhance connectivity between residents and government by increasing online access to information and services. Launched in 2010, the program has distributed over 357 grants, totaling more than $1.6 million, to various governmental bodies throughout the State. The initiative underscores SIPA's commitment to leveraging technology to streamline government operations and improve public access to government resources and services.
