The Commonwealth Cyber Initiative (CCI) is Virginia’s main access point for cybersecurity research, innovation, workforce development, and news. It serves as a hub where researchers can secure funding and collaborate, students can explore diverse career paths, and new innovations in cybersecurity are nurtured and developed.
The CCI's Research in Supply Chain Cybersecurity grant program aims to push the boundaries of Supply Chain Cybersecurity by enhancing capacity and boosting competitiveness in this critical field. The grant focuses on a broad range of topics including Zero-trust architectures, securing networks, testing and validating system security, addressing cybersecurity risks within the semiconductor supply chain, ensuring the security of autonomous vehicle supply chains, and managing supply chain security throughout a product's lifetime. This includes considerations for software updates and the integration of AI/ML systems. Key objectives include generating significant contributions to the field that can attract further investment from various sectors, benefiting Virginia-based companies, and fostering innovation opportunities such as commercialization and entrepreneurship. Funding amounts up to $100,000 are available for collaborative proposals or up to $50,000 for single-institution proposals, with recipients expected to actively participate in the broader CCI community and its activities.
