The mission of the funders (Hispanic Federation, Coalition for Asian American Children and Families, New York Urban League, and Asian American Federation), in collaboration with the Black Agency Executives, is to provide capacity-building support to Black, Latino, and Asian-led community-based organizations (CBOs) throughout New York City. This initiative aims to enhance the operational, financial, and overall organizational capacities of these organizations to better serve their communities.
The Communities of Color Nonprofit Stabilization Fund (CCNSF) is designed to bolster New York City nonprofits that are led by members of the community, on the premise that these organizations are uniquely positioned to address community needs effectively. Supported by the New York City Council, CCNSF offers grants to help these organizations identify and tackle critical organizational challenges across seven key areas: management information systems, financial management and planning, evaluation and outcomes system development, leadership development, new program planning and development, strategy and organizational development, and collaboration and strategic alliances. The fund provides awards up to $35,000 for organizations with budgets between $150,000 to $500,000 and up to $45,000 for those with budgets from $500,001 to $2 million. Awardees also gain access to technical assistance seminars focused on organizational development and may receive project monitoring visits.
