Community foundations are philanthropic organizations designed to be simple, flexible, convenient, tax-wise, cost-effective, and perpetual charitable vehicles. They hold, administer, invest, and make grants from funds established by individuals, families, and others to support community needs.
The Roanoke Valley Children's Fund aims to address the broad needs of children from prenatal care through the age of five. Its goals include linking existing resources with those most in need, serving as a catalyst for the creation of new resources, educating and promoting the understanding of the importance of early childhood, and building healthy lives and productive citizens from the start.
