The mission of the Sue Goetz Ross and Stephen S. Roberts Music Fund, through the legacy gift made by Stephen Roberts and its association with the Permanent Fund for Northern Virginia, is dedicated to forever supporting the arts and culture sector within the region.
Healthy Kids Grants focus on encouraging better nutrition and increased exercise among students in Northern Virginia public schools, with the support of the Chin Family Charitable Fund and the J.O.Y. Charitable Fund via the Community Foundation. These grants support the implementation of programs or strategies that promote these objectives during the school year. Additionally, a second round of grants emphasizes mental health support for students, responding to increased rates of depression and anxiety among children and youth. Up to $2,000 is available for schools implementing programs or strategies to improve students' mental health and well-being, awarded through a competitive process.
