The mission of The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven is to inspire, support, inform, listen to, and collaborate with the people and organizations of Greater New Haven to build an ever more connected, inclusive, equitable, and philanthropic community.
The Quinnipiac River Fund Grants program focuses on funding initiatives designed to better the environmental status of the Quinnipiac River, New Haven Harbor, and their encompassing watersheds. With annual distributions exceeding $100,000, the fund supports a variety of projects including pollution study, ecology research, reduction of pollution techniques, addressing pollution sources, public education, land conservation for pollution reduction and improved public access, environmental advocacy (excluding litigation funding), and habitat restoration. These efforts collectively aim at preserving and enhancing the water quality and ecological balance of the affected areas.
