The Neighborhood Fund, established with support from the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation, aims to equip metro Atlanta neighborhoods with the resources needed for community enhancement projects, leadership development among residents, and organizational growth for groups leading these initiatives. Over three decades, it has allocated approximately $3.2 million in grants and training to support civic engagement, cultural events, green spaces, youth opportunities, community safety, and more.
The Vote Your Voice initiative provides Field Strengthening Grants to support organizations that engage communities of color in year-round activities promoting their participation in voting and other civic actions. This effort addresses national, state, and local efforts designed to hinder citizens' voting abilities, focusing on issues like criminal penalties for voter registration activities, new voter ID requirements, limitations on voting methods, and voter roll purges. Specifically, Vote Your Voice targets organizations in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, and Mississippi, aiming to galvanize these communities to exercise their voting rights, advocate for voting access, and encourage full civic participation to ensure their voices are heard and influence their future.
