    Overview

The HOPE Fund Grant focuses on strengthening the capacity of organizations and the local LGBT sector as a whole, rather than just specific program development. Grant priorities include supporting capacity building for LGBT agencies to increase internal efficiency, encouraging meaningful collaboration between agencies serving the LGBT community to enhance efficiency and impact, eliminating duplication of services, and increasing the effectiveness, voice, and visibility of the LGBT community in Michigan. Projects eligible for these grants might involve board development, strategic planning, financial training, joint fundraising, and coordination or merger processes among nonprofits. Grants are competitive, generally ranging from $5,000 to $25,000, with larger grants considered under exceptional circumstances. Applications are open to both LGBT-specific and broader mission nonprofits meaningfully serving the LGBT community, focusing on proposals that meet the HOPE Fund's priority goals.
