The grant program aims to support new and existing programs or services that address the recreational, social, and educational needs of people with developmental disabilities and other handicapping conditions. It prioritizes innovative direct service programs or projects that promote independence, productivity, respect, and inclusion for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. Funding is also available for small capital investments, including equipment for agencies, and recurring activities such as camps and competitions. For the first time, requests for general operating support will also be considered, up to a maximum of $5,000.
