The grant program by The William Swanston Charitable Fund aims to support innovative projects that address and mitigate disparities affecting children's opportunities in Mahoning and Trumbull counties. It focuses on prevention and immediate needs in health and wellness, education, and children’s services. Specifically, it targets mental health and addiction, chronic disease, maternal and infant health, racial and income disparities in education, and the needs of youth involved with the child welfare or juvenile justice systems. The primary target population includes low-income, non-Hispanic black, and Hispanic children living in specified communities, particularly those impacted by societal neglect and community disinvestment.
