The Community Fund for Carmel Valley (CFCV) aims to serve residents, businesses, and organizations in Carmel Valley by enabling contributions to the greater good. As an affiliate of the Community Foundation for Monterey County, it leverages administrative, investment, and grantmaking expertise to improve the lives of community members both presently and in the future. Governed by a local advisory board of volunteer community members, its mission centers around oversight, fundraising, setting grantmaking priorities, and awarding grants to achieve substantial local impact.

Overview

The Northern Monterey County Foundation Grants program is designed to support nonprofit organizations that demonstrate strong leadership and the capacity to provide significant community resources and services in Northern Monterey County. The grant focuses on funding requests in several specific areas: Program Support, for the enhancement or establishment of programs demonstrating potential for impact and sustainability; Operating Support, provided as unrestricted grants; Capital Support, aimed at funding building or facility costs; and Organizational Development, to bolster the internal capacity and infrastructure of organizations with a demonstrated history of community benefit in the area. The overarching goal of this grant program is to empower organizations that are deeply involved in addressing community needs and to ensure their efforts are sustained and expanded.

Projects that discriminate or have political or partisan purposes
Religious activities or services that are non-secular and/or promote a religious doctrine
Funding to schools and public agencies that would supplant tax-supported, mandated services
Individual sports teams
Annual fundraising campaigns or events
Creation of, or addition to, endowment funds
Payment of debt or legal settlements
Expenses incurred prior to the grant award date
Attendance at conferences for staff or volunteers
Research projects
Grants to provide college or other educational scholarships to individuals
Grants to provide financial assistance directly to individuals
