The Community Fund for Carmel Valley (CFCV) aims to serve residents, businesses, and organizations in Carmel Valley by enabling contributions to the greater good. As an affiliate of the Community Foundation for Monterey County, it leverages administrative, investment, and grantmaking expertise to improve the lives of community members both presently and in the future. Governed by a local advisory board of volunteer community members, its mission centers around oversight, fundraising, setting grantmaking priorities, and awarding grants to achieve substantial local impact.
The Fund for Homeless Women supports initiatives that directly benefit homeless women on the Monterey Peninsula, focusing on reducing the harm and danger they face by increasing access to shelter and safety. Grant funds will support a range of activities including planning and start-up costs for new or existing programs, personnel expenses related to specific program goals, and equipment or facilities costs that benefit participants. Additionally, the fund offers small grants for direct emergency assistance, like hotel vouchers and personal care expenses. Priority is given to proposals that offer innovative solutions or expand emergency, temporary, or permanent shelter options, and case management services, with a strong encouragement for inter-agency collaborations. Funding ranges from $5,000 for emergency assistance grants up to $50,000 per year for more comprehensive support initiatives.
