Established in 1996 by local civic leaders, the Foundation supports this mission through grants funded by earnings on its endowment assets to nonprofit organizations throughout the region.
The Halifax County Grant Cycle, overseen by the Community Foundation of the Dan River Region, is designed to accept proposals from Halifax County each Fall. Aimed at funding local projects, the program typically awards one or two grants, each not exceeding $2,000. This initiative supports a broad range of causes to benefit the Halifax County community.
