Scientific Meeting and Sustainable Conferencing Grants

From The Company of Biologists

The Company of Biologists is a not-for-profit publishing organisation committed to supporting and inspiring the biological community through its activities.

Type of Support

Overview

The grant program discussed offers two types of grants: Scientific Meeting Grants and Sustainable Conferencing Grants. Scientific Meeting Grants provide up to £6,000, prioritizing events that incorporate a virtual component to enhance inclusivity, accessibility, and sustainability. The focus is on funding activities such as in-person, hybrid, or virtual meetings, workshops, and conferences relevant to the fields of the organisation's journals. These grants aim to cover costs like plenary speakers, travel for early-career researchers, and reducing registration fees. Sustainable Conferencing Grants offer up to £2,500 for initiating innovative ideas that promote proactive collaboration among biologists while reducing environmental impact. These grants encourage proposals for a broad spectrum of activities, including meetings and workshops that minimize travel, boost accessibility and inclusivity, and enhance the quality of virtual interactions.
