The CRSI Foundation is dedicated to advancing the growth of the steel reinforced concrete industry through investments in education and research.
The CRSI Foundation's Research Grants are centered on promoting basic research essential for the advancement of the steel reinforced concrete industry. This involves an annual grant program that provides $30,000 awards to support research at institutions in the United States or Canada. The focus of the grant program encompasses a wide range of research topics related to steel reinforcing bars, which are critical components in various types of construction, including cast-in-place concrete, precast/prestressed concrete, post-tensioned concrete, and reinforced masonry. The program seeks research proposals in several key areas: structures; materials and their physical properties, chemistry, and corrosion durability; industry practice; and metallurgical or manufacturing processes.
